Meet Connor Vanderholm

Connor was born and raised on the East side of Washington State and started thinking about hospitality while studying for his BBA at BYU-Idaho. He got his start in hospitality as a Rooms Operations Voyager at a 964 room Marriott Conference Center in Oklahoma after graduating. Exposure to life on property has been crucial as he’s drawn on his past experiences to understand the hotel teams he’s worked with.

With his eye fixed on the revenue management discipline, he transitioned to a Revenue Specialist role with Hilton at the RMCC where he managed a portfolio of extended stay hotels. He was quickly promoted and managed a dynamic portfolio of both select and full-service hotels. He has since carried a passion for extended stay and all-suite brand hotels. Twist his arm and he’ll tell you that Home2 Suites by Hilton is his favorite brand as a traveler.

Connor later shifted to Marriott’s RMAS, managing a high performing portfolio of hotels in the Bay Area. Some of the most beautiful properties he’s worked with come from his time with Marriott. The only thing that could pull him away from the great teams he worked with at the RMAS was the opportunity to combine both Marriott and Hilton properties in his portfolio and he continued his work with Aimbridge Hospitality.

Connor completed his MBA from Western Governors University and currently resides in the beautiful Pacific Northwest. He has been featured in articles as an expert in revenue management by and Outside of his work in hospitality, he is passionate about ensuring opportunity for children through quality education and serves on the governing board for the Idaho Association for the Education of Young Children. He and his wife Hanna have just welcomed their second child, a baby girl, into their family!

How do people react when they find out what you do?

Often they glare at me and say something like, “So you’re the guy who charged me $$$ for my last hotel room!” I can usually pivot that into saying yes, but I’m also the guy who lets you score good rates and has all the tips you should be asking about!

Go-to brand when travelling?

I’d have to say Home2 Suites by Hilton is our favorite. Kitchens are crucial when traveling with small children, the suites are roomy, and the micro-fiber sheets are exceptional. Extended stay hotels in general are perfect for us.

Most recent Netflix binge?

We just watched Community, all 6 seasons (and a movie). It was a very dynamic comedy with all forms of humor throughout.
